We use CNC machining to produce small quantities of high quality hardware. CNC machining allows us to make quick updates to our products and gives us the freedom to continue innovating.

CNC machining is a precision manufacturing method guided by computer control, utilizing a Computer-Aided Drawing (CAD) file and a rotating turning machine. It cuts away at the provided material to produce the desired shape. CNC machining offers a wider array of materials compared to injection molding. This gives us the opportunity to work with high end materials like 7000 aluminium and our infamous Symetrics plastic. 

 

CNC machining allows for tighter tolerance than injection molding, meaning measurements will be more consistently accurate. This gives us the control to create assembled parts that work perfectly together. 

We use CNC machining to be able to produce small quantities of our hardware. This gives us the freedom to make upgrades, changes and different versions of our products and allows us to continue innovating without having to worry about 'getting our costs back' before we can make an alteration.

PRE PREG CARBON

In pre-preg carbon, carbon fibers are pre-impregnated with resin before molding. This ensures uniform distribution of the resin and precise control over the material's properties, resulting in high-strength, lightweight structures commonly used in aerospace, automotive, and sports industries.

3D printing or additive manufacturing is a process of making three dimensional objects from a digital file. In an additive process an object is created by laying down successive layers of material until the object is created. Each of these layers can be seen as a thinly sliced cross-section of the object. Therefore it works opposite to CNC machining where you cut away from a solid block until the desired shape is reached.

Multi Jet Fusion or MJF is a form of 3D printing. Using an inkjet array, MJF works by depositing fusing and detailing agents in a bed of powder material, then fusing them into a solid layer. The printer distributes more powder on top of the bed, and the process repeats layer by layer. MJF is considered one of the leading technologies in 3D printing, with higher accuracy and surface quality, and superior material strength.

3D printing gives us the opportunity to create prototypes and finished parts even quicker, without the labour intensive use of CNC machining.

3D printing is also more focused towards plastics and comparable materials, which gives us more flexibility in the materials we use. 3D printing is a rapidly growing field which opens up new possibilities for us to continue innovating.
